We’re all here for a reason. We’re all put on this earth to make a difference on the lives of others. There’s a theory known as “the butterfly effect.” It states that if you go to the past and kill a butterfly, it could have a drastic effect on the present. In other words, something as simple as a butterfly flapping its wings can have an effect on everything in the future.

Why is this the case?

Because the butterfly affects many of the things it touches. It affects the air, which could affect the flight pattern of other bugs, which could affect which bugs those birds eat, which could affect which birds are hungry, which could affect which birds get into someone’s garbage, which affects how much trash is on the ground, which affects what the person that picks it up would have done had the trash not been there, and so on, and so forth.

Everything in the universe is affected by everything else in the universe, and everyone’s presence affects the future of all events.

Finding the Meaning of Life

Even though you are always affecting things, and even though you always have someone who’s life you touch with each moment, it can be easy to feel like you don’t belong. The question is how do you find your purpose in life – how do you find out what you were here to achieve?

It’s a question that has no easy answer, but it’s a question that can be answered. We’re all here to love God and to love people, but finding your own place is very important. Ask yourself the following question:

  • What are the great things that you know you can achieve in life?
  • What are some passions you have and areas that you believe you can contribute?
  • What impact do you want to have on the world?

A great question to ask yourself is, if you were allowed to create the meaning of life for yourself, what would you want it to be?

How do you find your purpose in life? You find your purpose by figuring out who you are and what you can do. You get in touch with your core values to understand what is really important to you and what it takes to be a person that you can be proud of.

The meaning of life is set by God and a part of who we are as people. Yet in addition to the meaning of life, you can create your own meaning. If everyone in this world has a purpose because everyone affects everyone else around it (the Butterfly Effect) then the question is – how can you become a ripple that helps to transform the lives of all you touch? How can you flap your wings so that decades, centuries, and millennia from now you are still having an impact? What can you do to make sure that if someone came back in time and took you away, the world would be a worse place?

It’s not about just volunteering and helping people. It’s not even about being a good person, although of course being a good person is important. You have an impact on everything that you do. The key is to find out what you can do to maximize that impact, and live with purpose in such a way that you’re always working toward meeting the goals that you set out for yourself.

Finding Your Purpose with a Life Coach

Life coaches are a great tool to find your own personal meaning of life, and discover who you are and what place you hold in the world. Not only can a coach put much of your life into perspective, but they’re on your side motivating you throughout the process.

  1. Max Davies says:

Finding a life’s purpose is a constant and evolving process. Spiritual guidance is very essential to explore our real intentions. At times of crisis, we often become frustrated and degenerated. So, we should have enough faith on us and God to redefine our life and its way of living.
